As far as culinary stereotypes go in Chinese cuisine, kung pao chicken is today’s chop suey. And yet, it would be silly not to order it at Havana’s newest Chinese restaurant. Tender cubes of chicken mixed with peppers and crunchy peanuts are tossed in a tangy, sweet-soy glaze. By leaps and bounds, it’s the most compelling rendition of the dish we’ve seen yet, both here and internationally. Wok-fried noodles with cabbage and beef, fried wontons buried under sweet-and-sour pork, and freshly steamed dumplings filled with spinach hammer home the point that Tin Hao is well on its way to becoming a city-wide destination.
