People talk about this place as being one of the best restaurants in Havana. And, yes, the food is excellent quality, from tasty starters of ceviche and deep fried cheese to succulent main courses of roasted snapper in lime juice and savory ropa vieja, the delectable slowly cooked shredded beef dish popular in Cuban homes. In fact, any place that makes great ropa vieja in Havana is indeed special – it’s the ultimate measure. The attractive multi-story 1930s house, with original tile floors and walls, is coolio Habana in every sense of the phrase for its décor and style. With a few atmospheric changes – the dim, fluorescent lighting and somewhat awkward seating detract from the experience – this could become THE best restaurant of the city. Try to reserve a table on the front terrace, especially for cigar smokers.
